An immersive journey
into the Arbëreshë world
The exhibition design, curated by Annibale Formica and Ferdinando Mirizzi, offers a visitor itinerary divided into five thematic areas, each presented in a separate room of the museum: History and Myth [ground floor], Domestic Life and Activities, Family Organisation, The World of Work, and Rituals, Festivals and Social Life [first floor].
History and myth
The introductory section is devoted to the ‘myth of origins’ and the ‘truths of history’.
Life and domestic activities
The story of the entrance hall on the second floor touches on the realm of domestic life and activities.
Family organisation
A space dedicated to representing ‘us’ through a focus on family structure.
The world of work
This room showcases tools and techniques that reveal the knowledge and skills of the farming tradition.
Rituals, festivals and social life
The exhibition in the final room is dedicated to the rituals, celebrations and social life of the Arbëreshë community.
